Anti-viral, anti-bacterial, immune booster,anti-oxidant, anti-inflammatory, yeast/fungal fighter,
Improves blood–brain barrier permeability and neurological deficit scores after transient middle cerebral artery occlusion (stroke).[6]
New science has demonstrated that those with cognitive problems can experience significant cognitive deterioration from a flu bug – deterioration that may not go away after the bug is gone. It is like a toxic thunderstorm going through the nervous system. The brain protection demonstrated in this study suggests that taking olive leaf extract during a time of immune-support need will provide protection to your nerves in part by supporting the integrity of your blood-brain barrier.
A randomized controlled double-blind crossover trial found that olive leaf extract capsules significantly improved insulin sensitivity and pancreatic β-cell responsiveness in middle-aged overweight men.[16]

Doses
The routine [adult] dosage is one 500 mg tablet every six hours or four throughout the day. Take the supplement between meals for best results. In the case of bad colds or flu, take two tablets every six hours. For acute infections, some individuals have taken more -- three and even four every six hours -- and reported rapid relief.
If you encounter a "die-off" effect, cut back on the number of tablets you are taking or temporarily discontinue them.
For healthy folks seeking more energy or the prevention benefits of olive leaf extract, we suggest one or two tablets a day. The younger and cleaner the body, the more responsive it is to supplements such as this. When a person becomes older and more toxic, more of the supplement is required to do the job.
mg. of oleuropein
Capsules and powder - For adults, add 20% to 30% to the oleuropein requirement due to reduced absorption.
For children, do not add the extra.
6-12yrs
Health Maintenance: 7mg per day divided into 1-2 doses
Disease Prevention: 18mg per day divided into 3 doses
Acute Illness: 40mg per day divided into 4-5 doses
Adult
Health Maintenance: 25mg per day divided into 1-2 doses
Disease Prevention: 75mg per day divided into 3 doses
Acute Illness: 180mg per day divided into 4-5 doses
Children should not be given olive leaf extract permanently like a vitamin tonic as they need to build up their own immune systems.
They should be given it when they are sick (if olive leaf extract is appropriate), when sickness is doing the rounds at school, for a few days in preparation for exams when under stress and perhaps before and during winter when colds and flu are about.
